We were looking for good Middle Eastern food and found this place in a strip mall on a highway, which is often a good sign. The hostess was extremely rude and seemed very unhappy about our mere existence in the restaurant. If, heaven forbid, we didnโ€™t understand something in the menu, she was visibly and vocally upset with us: โ€œAs I was sayingโ€ฆโ€ The food was hit and miss. The chicken shawarma and beet shawarma were amazing, as is the red pepper walnut spread. The hummus, unfortunately, was mediocre at best, and the pitas were dry and tasteless. If it werenโ€™t for the rude hostess, weโ€™d come back for the good items.

We visited this place, five or six years ago when we came to asheville for our anniversary, the last time. If you like, middle eastern or mediterranean, type food, you're gonna absolutely love the food and this joint. We haven't had anything bad with the exception of I tried an I p a and I really don't like I p a's, but it was a local, so I tried it anyways, benefit of the doubt ya know. It's still too hoppy.

Before hitting the road again, we decided to stop here during our travels, and Iโ€™m so glad we did! The vegan options caught our attention, and the photos looked amazing, so we had to give it a try. The inside is incredibly cozy and cute, making it a great place to relax for a bit. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. I donโ€™t usually order falafel because itโ€™s always been hit or miss for me, but Iโ€™m so glad I took the chance here..it was delicious! Iโ€™m a huge tabouli fan, and theirs was fresh and really well done. My partner ordered the vegan lamb wrap, and it was so good. The fresh mint really made it stand out. He also got the vegan poutine, which was packed with flavor. If youโ€™re passing through the area or looking for great vegan food, this spot is definitely worth the stop.

Absolutely delicious. The chicken shawarma wrap Suzie's way was incredible. The loaded fries were insane. The interior ambience was total vibes. I'm excited to come back here again.

Had an excellent experience at Gypsy Queen. The food was fresh, flavorful, and packed with quality ingredients. The chicken wrap was juicy and well-seasoned, with crisp lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and a great balance of sauces. The falafel was crispy on the outside, soft inside, and full of authentic flavor. Everything tasted homemade and fresh, and the portions were generous too. Definitely a spot worth coming back to if you enjoy Mediterranean food and wraps. Highly recommend!
